Abstract

Rose is one of the most important ornamental plants, with economic and cultural importance. In this work, the methanol extract of Taif rose (Rosa damascena trigintipetala Dieck) was investigated for its toxicity (Acute, Sub-chronic and Chronic) and long-term side effects. Also, the effect of dose accumulation on physiological parameters and histopathological changes in normal mice was studied. The results of this study showed that no toxicity indication of methanol extract of Taif rose during acute, sub-chronic and chronic periods on physiological parameters while the pathological studies showed minimal changes in the vital organs. From this work, it is clear that Taif rose methanol extract could be utilised as a good natural, affordable, and safe therapy.
