Abstract

From corn residue, activated carbon (AC) was produced and characterized to be in nanosize with crystal size 25.83 nm from XRD data and grain size 76.68 nm from FESEM. Then, I removed the anionic dye, coloring representing Eriochrome Black T (EBT) at various temperatures, pH levels, and adsorbent dosages, and conducted several adsorption investigations. Adsorption data was predicted using the Langmuir and Freundlich models. The experimental data show that the Langmuir fit more than the Freundlich model in terms of regression coefficients. Free energy , enthalpy , and adsorption entropy were all calculated using isotherms to be 7652.89( ), 8104 ( ) and 22.593( ), respectively. Additionally, we carried out kinetic studies to get the pseudo-second-order rate equation for adsorption. Advanced carbon has the same adsorption capacity as other commercially available adsorbents despite its lower price.
